Ten Wedding Planning Tips

There is an abundance of wedding content in the world. Each month, we compile the ten best tips we’ve seen on social or know from our experience. Join our newsletter list to get the tips in your inbox the first Monday of every month!

  1. If you are not doing a first look (& likely missing cocktail hour) talk to your caterer about having some apps brought to you before you enter the reception. Happy couples are better than hungry couples!

  2. I just came across this TikTok yesterday, but I have already ordered both of these books to see what wedding planning tips & tricks they hold!

  3. Have you thought about if and how you would like to preserve any of your wedding flowers? Start thinking ahead so that you can save your bouquet, centerpiece flowers, whatever! There are so many gorgeous and practical ways to preserve your flowers. A few of our favorite ways: onetwo | three

  4. Make a list of the small purchases you plan to make for your wedding. They can add up, and it can be nice to spread out the purchases. GDE Brides get exclusive access to our list of items.

  5. When you have your hair & make-up trial bring a top that resembles the neckline of your dress so that you can make sure you like your hair with the cut of your dress.

  6. If you are getting custom cocktail napkins for your wedding consider forgoing the date and “wedding” and simply having a wedding monogram, logo, your pet, etc. pictured on that napkins. That way, if you have extra you can use them to stock your bar cart!

  7. We have seen this on Tik Tok many times but never at a wedding. Find a friend and ask them to take the reigns on this cute video! It will be so fun to look back on.

  8. This bride has made several videos on TikTok about why she didn’t enjoy her wedding. She provides some interesting insight.

  9. Depending on your decor situation you may need family & friends to help clean up. Make sure to designate those people and give them a clear list of what needs to be taken from the venue. This is also something that GDE can help with.

  10. Can we please talk about this bridesmaid dress from Revelry?! I am simply obsessed with the silhouette. It would be perfect for a winter wedding!
